Captain America and the Avengers is a classic 1991 arcade beat ’em up video game developed by Data East, which was later ported to several home consoles. Players select from Captain America, Iron Man, Hawkeye, and Vision to defeat the Red Skull and a host of other Marvel villains. 

About the Game

• Gameplay: The main game is a side-scrolling brawler, with occasional side-scrolling flying and shooting segments. Players can use hand-to-hand combat, throws, and a special ranged “Avenger Attack” that does not drain health. The game is known for its fast action, colorful graphics, and sampled voice lines.
• Plot: The Red Skull assembles an army of villains to take over the world. The Avengers must battle various foes, including Klaw, Living Laser, Whirlwind, Juggernaut, Ultron, the Mandarin, and Crossbones, before facing the Red Skull himself.
