Armed Police Batrider is a vertically scrolling shooter developed by Raizing and published by Eighting in 1998. Set in a dystopian future Manhattan in 2019, players control “Batriders”—high-speed airbikes—to stop the GiganTech Corporation and its mechanical army.

Key Gameplay Features
- Team Selection: Unlike traditional shooters, players typically select a team of three pilots, which also represent their lives. You can choose from pre-set teams or create custom combinations in “Team Edit” mode.
- Massive Roster: The game features 18 playable characters. This includes nine original pilots and nine guest characters from previous Raizing titles, Battle Garegga and Mahou Daisakusen (Sorcer Striker).
- Game Modes:
- Training Course: 3 stages with slower bullets and an auto-bomb feature.
- Normal Course: 5 stages of standard difficulty.
- Advanced Course: 7 stages with the full ending and secret bosses.
- Special Course: A “Boss Rush” mode where the ship is always at full power.
- Rank System: Retaining the complex “rank” mechanic from Battle Garegga, the game’s difficulty dynamically scales based on player performance. Players can lower this difficulty by “grazing” (letting bullets pass through the ship’s sprite without hitting the central hitbox).
