JoJo’s Venture (released in Japan as JoJo no Kimyō na Bōken) is the fourth game released for Capcom’s CP System III (CPS-3) arcade hardware.

The story of JoJo’s Venture (CPS-3) is a faithful adaptation of Stardust Crusaders, the third major story arc of the JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure manga.
Plot Summary
Set in the late 1980s, the narrative follows Jotaro Kujo, a Japanese high schooler who discovers he has a “Stand”—a supernatural guardian spirit. His grandfather, Joseph Joestar, reveals that this power emerged because the family’s ancestral enemy, the vampire DIO, has resurfaced using the body of their ancestor, Jonathan Joestar.
When Jotaro’s mother falls into a life-threatening coma caused by her own uncontrollable Stand, Jotaro, Joseph, and a group of allies known as the “Crusaders” embark on a 50-day journey from Japan to Egypt to kill DIO and break the curse.
Story Mode Structure
The arcade version presents the story through character-specific campaigns:
- Episodes: Each match is structured like an episode of the manga, complete with cutscenes and dialogue.
- Mini-Bosses & Unique Stages: Beyond standard 2D fights, the game includes unique sequences like the encounter with N’Doul, which plays as a side-scrolling “reach the end” stage, and special mini-games for characters like D’Arby the Gambler.
- The Final Boss: Most character stories culminate in a climactic battle against DIO in Cairo.
