Released in the late 90s (1999) for the CPS-3 (Capcom Play System 3) arcade hardware, Capcom’s JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure is a stylized 2D fighting game based on the Stardust Crusaders story arc.

Gameplay Mechanics
- Stand System: Characters can summon a “Stand” (a supernatural spiritual manifestation) with a dedicated button. Activating a Stand changes a character’s moveset, increases damage, and allows for unique abilities like Tandem Attacks where the Stand acts independently.
- Stand Gauge: When a Stand is active, it has its own health bar. Depleting it causes a “Stand Crash,” leaving the user vulnerable for a short period.
- Blazing Fists: A unique mechanic where two clashing Stands engage in a rapid-fire punching match, requiring players to mash buttons to win the exchange.
- Four-Button Control: Unlike Capcom’s typical six-button fighters, this game uses three attack buttons (Light, Medium, Heavy) and one dedicated Stand button.

Story: Players follow Jotaro Kujo and his allies (Joseph Joestar, Avdol, Kakyoin, Polnareff, and Iggy) on a 50-day journey from Japan to Egypt to defeat the vampire DIO and save Jotaro’s mother.
