Street Fighter Zero 2 (released as Street Fighter Alpha 2 in Western regions) is a 1996 2D fighting game developed and published by Capcom for the CP System II (CPS2) arcade hardware.

Playable Roster
The game features a total of 18 characters, including the entire 13-character roster from the original Street Fighter Alpha plus five additions.
- Newcomers: Sakura Kasugano (a high school fan of Ryu), Rolento (from Final Fight), and Gen (from the original Street Fighter).
- Returning SFII Icons: Zangief and Dhalsim.
- Immediately Selectable: Previous secret or boss characters like M. Bison, Akuma, and Dan Hibiki are available from the start.

Core Gameplay Mechanics
- Custom Combo System: Replaces the “Chain Combo” system from the first game. By using a portion of the Super Combo gauge, players can initiate a timed state to link nearly any series of basic and special moves together.
- Zero Counters (Alpha Counters): Defensive maneuvers performed while blocking. Each character now has two types: one executed with a punch button and one with a kick button.
- Super Combo Gauge: Retained from the previous entry, allowing for multi-level Super moves.
- Mid-air Blocking: Characters can block in the air, though not against most ground-based normal attacks.
